In a rebellious response to requests for colour, CAVALIER dishes out an eccentric spectrum this Spring Summer entitled Acid Refluxxx. Sports mesh is colour-blocked with CAVALIER’s signature grey slub and soft tulle netting is layered to create soiree-worthy rainbow details.
This Spring Summer’s “wearable art” piece presents itself as a Unicorn Dress – the magical stallion is juxtaposed from a geometric black body, it’s rainbow mane gathered from 5 layers of neon tulle and of course a stately spiralling horn disguised as a twisted silver-foil shoulder strap on one side.
Arguably the most iconic dress from CAVALIER also makes a much-awaited comeback. An ode to English designer John Pasche of the legendary tongue and lips logo for The Rolling Stones, the Pasche Dress was launched in CAVALIER’s second collection, sold out and is still being hunted down today. This timeless shift dress hemmed with a mouth that gobbles up its wearer, is re-mixed in this collection with candy-stained lips and tongue.
The use of sports mesh transcends also to daily smart casuals in the D-lusion range. Myth is a range of jeweltone foiled summer essentials, D-ranged is a trio hemmed with an endless ombre of rainbow pom poms – and Shenanigans provides basic tees and leggings made edgy with monochrome herringbone and aztec jerseys.
To top the season off, CAVALIER teams up with womenswear label A.K.A Wayward for a 4-piece capsule. “My wardrobe was filling up with way too many A.K.A Wayward pieces so I had to share them with the CAVALIER crew.” muses Creative Director Angela Chong. “These four pieces make my personal essentials list and I have them in every colour that was made. We decided to give them a CAVALIER edge like the signature rocker and peace hand sign appliquéd pockets on the back-draped Rock Dress.”
